The main objective of the Scheme is to assist the needy disabled persons in procuring durable, sophisticated and scientifically manufactured, modern, standard aids and appliances that can promote their physical, social and psychological rehabilitation, by reducing the effects of disabilities and enhance their economic potential. In the ADIP scheme free distribution of assistive devices was made to persons with disabilities under BPL category by our NSP with the financial support from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India.
A home for those old people who have no one to look after them or those who have been thrown out of their homes by their children; the place is of course like home where the inmates get all the facilities for a routine living, like food, clothing, and shelter. This is the real concern which team-NSP understands well and put effort to subside the same.NSP has been addressing the issue through its various programs for the geriatric population and also it running various centers for the older under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi. The centre is benefiting 600 destitute elderly people regularly by providing them all residential care.
(i)Old Age Homes- [Care & Rehabilitation Of Destitute Older Persons]:Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts (IRCA) is an effort to psychological and medical attention to the drug & alcoholic addicts to free them from the dreadful and monstrous clutches of drug menace. With the effort of NSP, two IRCAs have been set up in Puri and Ganjam districts under the financial support from Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Intoxicants like Brown Sugar, Marijuana, Country Liquor and Toxic Leaves are widely rampantly available in these two districts causing the lives of the addicts dejected. The Project envisage total recovery of the addict leading to his socio economic rehabilitation through an appropriate combination of individual counseling, group therapy, yoga, exposure to self-help / support groups, and introduction to other recovering addicts. Project is also includes support and care to families of the addicts.
Drug De- addiction-cum Rehabilitation Centre: ( Nav-jeevan Unit-I,Puri)
The "Drug de-addiction-cum Rehabilitation Centre, literally named as "Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts" continuing from 1992 and presently located at PURI in support of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. The Objective is to keep Psychological attention to drug and alcoholic addicts to release them form dreadful and monstrous clutches of such intoxicating habit, by introducing institutional and non institutional measure including medical attention.

The Objective is to keep Psychological attention to drug and alcoholic addicts to release them form dreadful and monstrous clutches of such intoxicating habit, by introducing institutional and non institutional measure including medical attention.
Based on the modality of non-institutional set up, the programme aims to provide community based support to the disabled person. The family, the community and health professionals collaborate to provide needed services in an environment, where services for disabled persons are seriously limited or totally absent. In this context, these programmes are appropriate in addressing the needs of the disabled especially in the rural setting. Keeping in view, NSP has started the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) programme in Kanas & Brahmagiri Block of Puri district of Odisha state under Deenadayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme of Ministry of S. J. & E, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
(i) Special School for Deaf and Blind:
Special School for Deaf and Blind started since 1992 in NSP, Dayavihar (Kanas) Puri for the hearing impaired and visually impaired children in age group of 3-18 years with the support of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India. This school is providing Centre based formal education (primary & secondary) and training in the form or in combination with pre-school intervention, skill of basic management encompassing inputs of personal care, self-help skills, life-skill education, functional academics with required therapeutic intervention (Speech therapy, yoga & Music) to enable the children feel and act like normal children, not being differentiate in the society. Children are given hostel facility and also engaged in academic activities right from class I to class X. Training is given to groom them up with special cultural talent like music, dance, recitation etc. Special library has been set up for the children. Twice in a month health check up done by specialized doctors. NSP imparts education by Braille/Sign language method of teaching in the school.
(ii) Special School for Mentally Challenged:
With a view to run centre based special school providing informal education and training in the form or in combination with skills of basic management encompassing inputs of personal care, self help skills, functional academics etc, and such other required interventions like therapeutic services (occupational, physio, speech, psychological and yoga etc, NSP has been running the Special School for the Mentally Retarded (MR) children since 1992. The main objective of the project is to bring about varying degrees of improvement in the lives of mentally challenged and integrating them in regular institutions of learning and society in general. The children between 5-18 years admit in the school.
(iii) Vocational Training Centre and Hostel for the Disabled :
A specialized Vocational unit has set up by the NSP since 2000 in support of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. The objective of the programme is to enhance employable skill and knowledge of young disables for reintegration and economic rehabilitation.The project is meant for achieving economic independence and improved social status of adolescence/adult with disabilities. The age limits of the beneficiaries are from 15-35 years and the course includes one year Computer (PGDCA) training. After successful completion of the training, they are encouraged for employment and self employment and NSP has made efforts for forward linkages/ rehabilitation.
The Ministry of Minority Affairs(MOMA)
Women from the disadvantaged sections of the society, is unfavorable in our country. Women are not just a minority, but the 'marginalized majority'. Empowerment of women is not only essential for equity, but constitutes a critical element in our fight for poverty reduction, economic growth and strengthening of civil society. Women and children are always the worst sufferers in a poverty stricken family and need support. The Ministry of Minority Affairs has suitably casted the scheme as "Scheme for Leadership Development of Minority Women". NSP has taken this initiative to implement the scheme in Puri district from 2012-13 sessions with support of ministry.
The objective was to empower and instill confidence in women, by providing knowledge, tools and techniques for interacting with Government systems, banks and other institutions at all levels.
An innovative scheme promoted by Ministry of Minority Affairs, it was launched throughout the country and our organization bagged the assignment to set up NCVT approved Training Centre at six various locations of Odisha for placement linked skill up gradation training programmes exclusively meant for the minority segment to reduce the rate of unemployment of minorities during 12th five year plan. Undivided Puri district as a whole, having its own identity in the field of "Applique" Handicraft was chosen to be the core area of operation and training; "Fashion Designing" was included into the curriculum as approved under MES scheme.
Ministry of Women and Child Development(WCD):
For care, protection and reintegration of destitute women, NSP is running Swadhar Shelter Home & Help line since 1994 with the support of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India. The inmates are provided vocational training like Tailoring, Wick rolling, Appliqué work, Coir work and Mushroom cultivation etc. A Toll Free number for "Helpline" is running for 24 hours to help the women in difficult situation. The beneficiaries are mostly widows, women released from jail, survivors of disaster, homeless, run away women and girls, women from marginal communities. Free food, clothing and shelter, counseling, emotional support, clinical and legal aid, rehabilitation, skill up gradation etc. are provided to all beneficiaries.
Children's Home supported by the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Odisha is an alternative home for children without parents, children with single parent and parents of the children affected in prolonged illness. The home is located at the head quarters campus of the organization at Dayavihar (Kanas), Dist- Puri. This programme aims to support under-served orphan children escape a background of poverty, slum life, illiteracy and ignorance by using education as a tool for development. The eligibility criteria for the boys are 5-18 years and for girls it is 5-25 years.
As an integrated part of the Swadhar Scheme, a 'Help Line' programme was launched by NSP with financial assistance from the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India. Three lady social workers have been engaged as service providers round the clock on NSP telephone lines in three shifts. Information is collected and the women in difficult circumstances are rescued by the project team with the help of police.
Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India:
The Textile sector is the second largest sector to share employment after Agriculture. To address the trained manpower needs of textiles and related segments including Handicrafts, Handlooms, Sericulture, Jute, Technical Textiles etc, by developing a cohesive and integrated framework of training based on the industry needs. NSP has started skill up gradation training programme from March 2010 in support and guidance of Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India under HRD Scheme to provide qualified and trained work force capable of establishing a strong production base coupled with improvement, quality, appropriate techniques and innovative designs to meet the present needs of Market.
Swornajayanti Gramya Sworojagar Yojana(SGSY) under The Panchyati Raj Department, Govt. of Odisha
NSP has implemented skill up-gradation training for the Women SHGs Belongs to BPL categories under SGSY programme in Kanas and Delanga Block of Puri District. The Panchyati Raj Department, Govt. of Odisha has supported the financial assistances through District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Puri. The main objective of the scheme is to empower rural women SHGs coming under BPL categories by providing skill up- gradation training for socio-economic development of such women and their family.
Odisha Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Development Finance Co-operative Corporation Limited (OSFDC)
With a view to provide skill development training to the SC/ST youths in local specific market oriented entrepreneurship skills and to facilitate better livelihood options, NSP started the programme during the year 2012-13 in four courses such as Driving-cum-Mechanic, Mobile repairing, Plumbing, Welding & Fabrication. The training programme is supported by Odisha Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Development Finance Co-operative Corporation Limited (OSFDC).
