First of all we need to know the gap areas where the training is needed. To identify these gaps we put various analysis there. This involves finding answers to questions whether training is actually needed or which are the areas that need an improvement through training. Our success in getting young people into work stems from our belief that hard skills training alone is simply not enough. By developing the behavioural & leadership, skills of our trainees we hope to bring about real changes in how they think, how they view themselves, how they plan for their future, and how they perceive their place in society. Leadership development, capacity building and skill development training are regular activities of NSP. Various kinds of training activities are undertaken to increase the potential of human resources as service providers, employment generation and creating opportunity for self employment. DISABILITY REHABILITATION AND TRAINING CENTRE (DRTC)
Diploma In Special Education On Mental Retardation(M.R), Hearing Impairment(H.I), Visual Impairment(V.I) And Bachelor In Special Education On Hearing Impairment(H.I) Courses
The International Commission of Education for the twenty first century has emphasized that one ofthe principal functions of education is fitting humanity to take control of its own development. It mustallow people without exception to take their own destiny in to their own hands so that they cancontribute to the progress of the society to which they like, founding development upon thisresponsible participation of individual and communities. It has underline, no talent hidden like buriedtreasures in anyindividuals remain untapped. It is especially applicable to the Persons withDisabilities(PWDs).
Particularly in the field of Special Education, lack of human resources has been creating obstacle forimparting education of the special children aswell as mainstreaming in the society. Keeping theabove view in the mind and achieving the national goal of universalization andSustainableDevelopment Goals by 2020.
Nilachal Seva Pratisthan (NSP),hascome forward and establishedDisabilityRehabilitation andTraining Centre (DRTC)startedTeachers training programme in the field of Special Educationi.e.Diploma in Education-Special Education (MR),Diploma in Education-SpecialEducation (HI)in 2010 andDiploma in Education-Special Education (VI)as well asBachelor inSpecial Education (HI) in 2018which has presently become a centre of excellence in the fieldspecial education. The aim of Special Education courses is to develop professional for SpecialEducation within a broad framework of education in the current millennium. The course enables pre-service teachers to acquire knowledge, develop competency and practice skills to impart educationto the Children With Special Needs (CWSN). After completing this course, the candidates willbeeligible to work as Special Teachers in SpecialSchools, Block ResourceTeacher under RTE ofSSA, and to appoint as Sikshya Sahayakin General School etc.All theTraining Programmes areaccredited by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), New Delhiand recognized by Govt. of Odisha.B.Ed-S.E(H.I) course is also affiliated by Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.. The intake capacity of theD.Ed-S.E(MR), D.Ed-S.E(HI) and B.Ed-S.E(H.I) streams are 30 each and D.Ed-S,E(VI) stream is 25.
Advanced Certificate Course in Inclusive Education (Cross Disability)(ACCIE)
Council of India approved Advance Certificate Course "Advanced Certificate Course in Inclusive Education (Cross Disability)" in distance mode at its own campus at Daya Vihar(Kanas), Puri, Odisha.The duration of the programme is 6 months. The candidates with Diploma/Bachelor in Education-Special Education in any specialization are eligible for admission to the programme. After completion of the course, the candidates are entitled to award 100 CRE points for renewal of registration.
Promotion of Khadi & Village Industry
The first programme of Nilachal Seva Pratisthan was undertaken in 1978 for production of Khadi and the programme is continuing since then in the operational area confined to Kanas Block of Puri district at its own initiative. To protect and to preserve the Gandhian Culture, Odisha Khadi and Village Industries Board, Bhubaneswar and Khadi & Village Industries Commission, came forward to extend their support in a schematic mode and subsidy linked production of Khadi and Gramodyog produces. In order to upgrade the existing skill as well as to add the additional skill, training on weaving are imparted to rural weavers and spinners. The objective of the programme is not only to enhance the livelihood of the rural poor weavers but to retain the traditional knowledge and to promote rural small scale industries.
Industrial Training Centre
Industrial Training Centre is established by NSP since 1999 to impart training to the rural poor unemployed youths and generate employment. The centre has been affiliated to National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), Govt. of India, New Delhi, through the State Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training, Bhubaneswar. The Director of Technical Education and Training, Cuttack, supervises the centre to monitor the performances and conducts the examination. After successfully completes the training programs they have been place in various sector.
Anganwadi Training Centre
Training centre for the Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) was set up since 1994 by Nilachal Seva Pratisthan with the support of Women and Child Development Department, Govt. of Odisha. Job Course training and refresher training are provided to Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) with the themes related to health, nutrition, immunization, community mobilisation etc. The AWWs were from different blocks of the districts namely Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Nayagarh, Khorda and Puri. The instructor and resource person from different government line department were invited to take sessions on different subjects. Panel discussions and field exposure are provided to the trainees.
Training on Handicraft
The training programme was started with a view to bring in systematic approach for continuous and sustainable development of artisans community, fruitful employment, as well as strong production base for meeting the short production cycle in the market. To upgrade the existing skill as well as to add the additional skill, NSP imparted the training on stone carving and appliqué craft are imparted to Handicrafts artisans with financial assistance of Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India (office of the Development Commissioner-Handicrafts). This programme is one of the core activities of the organisation. Stone carving, long term training is given for a period of six months and short term course training in Appliqué work is imparted in one month to artisans. During the training programme, the trainees were given monthly stipend. They are provided a certificate for successful completion of the training programme.
Skill Up Gradation Training Under Swornajayanti Gramya Sworojagar Yojana(SGSY)
SGSY has been designed to cover all aspects of self employment such as organization of the poor into self-help groups, training, credit, technology, infrastructure and marketing. Swarnajayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) was introduced from 1-APR-1999.Our organization NSP has implemented skill up-gradation training for the Women SHGs Belongs to BPL categories under SGSY programme in Kanas and Delanga Block of Puri District. The Panchyati Raj Department, Govt. of Odisha has supported the financial assistances through District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Puri for the said training programme. The main objective of the scheme is to empower rural women SHGs coming under BPL categories by providing skill up- gradation training for socio-economic development of such women and their family.
Training for SC/ST Youths Under OSFDC
With a view to provide skill development training to the SC/ST youths in local specific market oriented entrepreneurship skills and to facilitate better livelihood options, Nilachal Seva Pratisthan(NSP) started the programme with four courses such as Driving-cum-Mechanic, Mobile repairing, Plumbing, Welding & Fabrication during the year 2012-13. The training programme is supported by Odisha Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Development Finance Co-operative Corporation Limited (OSFDC).
Leadership Development of Minority Women
Women are not just a minority, but the 'marginalized majority'. Empowerment of women is not only essential for equity, but constitutes a critical element in our fight for poverty reduction, economic growth and strengthening of civil society. The Ministry of Minority Affairs has suitably casted the scheme as "Scheme for Leadership Development of Minority Women". NSP has taken this initiatives to implement the scheme in Puri district from 2012-13. NSP conducts training programs both at village level and in residential training institutes. The target minority communities are Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Zoroastrians (Parsis). The objective of this project is to empower and install confidence in women, by providing knowledge, tools and techniques for interacting with Government systems, banks and other institution at all levels.
State Training Agency for ASHA HBNC Programme by (NHM)
NSP has been selected as State Training Agency for ASHA HBNC Programme in 2014. It has implemented the ASHA HBNC(Home based new born care) programme in Six districts(Puri, Khordha, Ganjam, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara). This programme is supported by National Health Mission, Odisha.
